Small HOTEL

A Multi-sensory Stay

Barrington’s Small Hotel, situated directly above the brewery, provides an undeniably unique yet central location a stone’s throw from the beach and Plettenberg Bay’s world class, championship golf course.

Quite “the perfect place” for travellers wanting more than a bed for the night.

Tapas Restaurant & Terrace

lunch & dinner

A show stopping, triple volume reception gives way to the inner workings of the brewery and the imposing marble topped Barrington’s Bar, alongside which the quieter, welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant resides.

the brewery

Four superbly crafted beers

Barrington’s is the first craft brewery to be situated within the town of Plettenberg Bay itself.

The 500 lt brewery is headed up by Knysna local, Marcus Meunier who has crafted four superbly individual beers to start – a Lager, a Weiss, an English Ale and an American Rye Ale as well as seasonal beers throughout the year.

Enjoy a taster of each beer at our bar.

our garden

At the forefront of Barrington’s ethos is its absolute commitment to sustainability. Nowhere is this more evident than in its magnificent 1000m² white walled, organic kitchen garden that one journeys through on the way in.

our passion

is food and where it comes from

Aside from the organic kitchen garden, other notable features include a 120 000 lt underground grey water reservoir to be used for irrigation purposes, gas geysers throughout and the future installation of 180 solar panels.  Support for locally farmed, ethically produced meat and produce from within a 30km radius and Barrington’s very own daily harvest will further assist in limiting the operations carbon footprint throughout.

THE HISTORY

The land that the brewery stands on once belonged to Barrington’s charge, young William Newdigate. Our logo, a merino ram, a reminder of Henry’s theatrical bridal party landing on Central Beach and their combined industrious agricultural undertakings. The name itself, a hat’s off to the man, the Honourable Henry Frederic Francis Adair Barrington.
